Solenoid valves
Solenoid valves – general information
In an industrial solenoid valve (electromagnetic valves), an electric current flows through a coil (solenoid) and causes the valve to open or close (2-way valves) or switches the flow between two outlets (3-way valves). The solenoid valves can be direct acting valves (the force produced by an electric current directly opens or closes the valve) and indirect acting / pilot operated solenoid valves (the force produced by an electric current opens or closes a pilot port, then the flow through this port opens or closes the main valve).
These valves are general-purpose solenoid valves for fluids and gases. The body is made of brass, the moveable plunger and spring of stainless steel, the plunger tube of stainless steel or brass. Valve functions: 2/2NC, 2/2NO, 3/2NC, 3/2NO (2/2 – 2 ports/2 valve positions, 3/2 – 3 ports/2 valve positions, NC – normally closed – no current in the coil, NO – normally open). The product range includes direct-acting poppet solenoid valves, direct-acting diaphragm solenoid valves, indirect-acting diaphragm solenoid valves. Valve nominal diameters range from DN1.5 to DN25, BSP female thread end connections from 1/8″ to 1″, working pressure: up to 40 bar (smaller valves DN1.5 – DN5), up to 25 bar (bigger valves DN10 – DN25). The type of sealing material (NBR, Viton, EPDM) must be matched with the medium flowing through. The solenoids for the solenoid valves (assembly diameters 10 and 13 mm, voltage 12V, 24V, 110V, 220V) and plugs to be ordered separately.
The solenoid valves are used in numerous applications in all industries. The solenoid valves in our range can be used for: air, inert gases, hot and cold water, steam (up to 2.5 bar), mineral oils, petrol, heating oil, etc. When selecting the valve, consider the following: medium, its temperature, viscosity, ambient temperature, flow rate, maximum working pressure, differential pressure (pressure difference when the valve is closed).
