Composite hose assemblies with fittings and couplings
Complete hose assemblies are mounted with special fittings and crimped with ferrules. During this process, it is important to ensure that the hose assembly is electrically continuous from end to end. The most typical fittings:
- flange couplings e.g. DIN (EN) PN16, fixed and swivel;
- CAMLOCK couplings (type C or E);
- BSP male thread fittings;
The fittings are made of carbon steel, 316 and 304 stainless steel, aluminium, bronze or polyethylene. For very aggressive chemicals, ECTFE-coated stainless steel fittings are used (ECTFE – fluoropolymer similar to PTFE).
The composite hose assemblies are often fitted with various couplings: TW (so-called tankwagen couplings), CAMLOCK couplings, rail couplings, dry disconnect couplings and emergency release (breakaway) couplings.The composite hose assemblies intended for loading/unloading operations are produced according to the requirements of Transportation Technical Supervision (TDT) and supplied with quality certificates.
